A plasterer who got fed up watching mates waste their evenings.
I'm Tom Porter. I ran a plastering firm in Yorkshire for twelve years before I built Text A Site.
The problem was obvious. Every mate I knew in the trade either had no website, or had paid some agency three grand for a slow mess they could never update themselves. Then they'd spend their evenings wrestling with WordPress, getting nowhere.
I kept thinking: you should be able to text someone a change and have it done. Like texting your supplier for more materials. That simple.
So I taught myself to build websites properly, hired a developer who actually knows what they're doing, and we built the service I wish had existed. No agencies. No dashboards. Just text us, it gets done.
